Nan Master

No big happenings in the last day or two. However, we did venture out to our first proper meal out (okay.. we broke down and brought the kids to the mall McDonalds a few days ago). But this was the first sit down meal!

We arrived about 10 min early, as they close between lunch and dinner. It was hot as it has been, near-90, and we'd been looking at the menu outside (restaurants in Japan often post menus outside, or have amazing plastic models of their menu on display). Thankfully, they opened the doors early so our sweaty foreigner clan could cool down.

Angela got the "ladie's set"'which included a few different courses, with chicken curry as the main. Wrangling with  kids prevented me from photographing it.

I got Chana Masala, which is a chickpea curry with pepper, garlic, onion, tomato, and coriander. It was simple and delicious!

Nan Master is the master: the nan was HUGE. Trying to put it in perspective:

Afterward we stopped by our local grocery store for some ice cream. Seth insisted he wanted a toy from the coin vending machines in the entry of the store rather than ice cream. Here is the epic cat-with-suction-cup toy he chose.

Here is...barfing cat? Luckily, he didn't pick this one.

A quick swing at the playground on the way home before the mosquitos ate us alive. All in all, a successful evening out!
